What to Know Before Your Filler Appointment
Our medical staff will provide you with pre-treatment instructions that, when followed correctly, will enhance results and reduce your period of recovery. In general, it is recommended to give yourself a period of 3-5 days of social downtime after injections. This is not applicable for all areas of treatment but is a general consideration. The face is a very vascular area. Bruising and swelling are expected in varying degrees when receiving dermal fillers.
It is important to reschedule your appointment if you have skin breakdown or irritation in the area that is to be treated. This will ensure better outcomes and a safer foundation for infection control. Those who have a history of cold sores should share this with their provider prior to any dermal fillers as some areas of injection can trigger cold sores at or near the injected site.
